What do we do?

Our dedicated Careers and Guidance Advisor, Tara Luckhurst and Laura Bowles (Deputy Head of Schools) have created Alchemy Schools career and guidance programme to support and aid our young people in understanding the next steps into Post 16 Education, or into the job sector.

Tara & Laura ensures that all students are seen on a 1-1 basis to support their individual needs, providing Careers advice and guidance to achieve their post 16 pathways, career goals and aspirations. As well as sharing information on local options such as open days for colleges, apprenticeships and traineeships. With Tara’s support, students will develop their understanding of the pathways available to them via both mainstream and specialist provisions, complete college applications, understand different interview techniques, understanding the Local Authority post 15 transition process as well as understanding how to access employment.

Tara & Laura ensures that students within our schools are able to access our Employability Qualification through NCFE. This enables students to be aware of different sectors, Post 16 options, creating CV’s, filling in application forms and promoting the 9 characteristics. For those students who are struggling to access this qualifications, students will undertake our life skills lessons, which are delivered the same however, are tailored to the students needs and understanding.

During the year all students and parents/carers will be invited to attend our yearly careers fair event offering the opportunity to talk to local college provisions providing Post 16 Education options, Apprenticeships and supported internships, and discover further options in various sectors of Employment.

Alchemy Schools ensures that all students are able to progress onto the correct Post 16 pathway.
