Alchemy School is proud of its curriculum and what it encompasses. As well as including the core subjects and enrichment programs, the needs of our students are catered for by individualised programs.

As a school we recognise that all our students are individuals with differing skills, interests, needs and abilities. We cater for everyone including those with undiagnosed learning difficulties, those who hold EHC Plans and those with confirmed diagnoses.

On admission a full assessment is carried out in respect of each students academic and social abilities. This assessment process identifies each student’s core skills, abilities and preferred learning styles, and highlights areas of previous attainment.

The assessment process is the foundation for underpinning an extremely focused, discreet programme which will meet the academic and social needs of every student.

Individualised programs are produced from the assessment process incorporated within the national curriculum and various other awarding bodies and vocational areas.

Schemes of work supporting the programs will include relevant assessment criteria from examination boards and the national curriculum, which will assist to progress students with their basic and functional skills.

Behaviour support plans, individual educational plans and risk assessments are also produced and regularly updated for each student.

We never thought we would get to a position where he would be going off to college.  Definitely a proud day for us parents.
