If you are working unsupervised with students, the school receptionist will ask you to produce your DBS certificate or details thereof, together with proof of identification i.e., your passport or driving licence.

All visitors will be given a RED LANYARD. This means for the whole duration of your visit you will be accompanied by a member of staff. No exceptions will be made. The safety and welfare of our students will not be compromised under any circumstances.

Please note that the safeguarding team wear PURPLE LANYARDS.

The other members of staff will be wearing their house colours (RED, BLUE, YELLOW, GREEN)

Safeguarding for Visitors

Adults visiting or working on the school site play an important part in the life of the school. You can play a part in keeping the students safe while working at or visiting the schools by observing the following guidelines.

DO NOT initiate verbal or physical contact with students unless it is appropriate and a part of the agreed reason for your visit.

DO NOT give any personal information to students, such as your mobile number or address. DO NOT provide students with your personal email address, and only provide your professional work email if it is necessary as part of the reason for your visit. PLEASE keep your phone on silent whilst on site and refrain from using it in any place where students can hear your conversations.

DO NOT give students details of your personal social network accounts or engage in any communication with students about using social networking sites.

If you have any concerns that a student may be at risk from harm, report it IMMEDIATELY to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) Hannah Lorton who can be contacted via main reception. DO NOT discuss your concerns with the students or carry out an investigation.

If a student makes a disclosure to you, DO NOT promise confidentiality. EXPLAIN that you will need to talk to a member of staff. You MUST inform the DSL of your concerns IMMEDIATELY.
